Answers

  1. Is there anything that I should not load in the truck?

It is suggested that you keep valuable personal items as well as important documents and paperwork with you during the move. It is also recommended that you carry extra clothes, toiletries, and enough medication to last until the delivery date.

  2. Is there anything that cannot be moved?

Several household items are considered hazardous materials and cannot be moved with your belongings. These include aerosols, gas cans, paints, varnish, corrossives, batteries, matches, nail polish remover, ammunition, explosives, cleaning fluids, and detergents. Consult your representative if you have a question about anything you are planning to move.

  3. Can I transport my car?

It is possible to transport your vehicle with the rest of your belongings. Contact your representative for more details.

  4. When will my belongings be delivered to my new location?

Before your belongings are loaded on the truck, you and your representative should have agreed on a 'delivery spread' based on shipment size, distance to destination, and time of year. You will receive notification of the date of delivery prior to actual delivery.

  5. How should I prepare my waterbed for the move?

Your waterbed will need to be completely drained prior to your move date. Some waterbeds require professional draining- your representative will be able to provide the names and contact information of service personnel.

  6. How will Jackson Moving protect my upholstered furniture?

Allied uses a special procedure called stretch wrap to protect large items including furniture. It is a clear, heavy, plastic wrap.

  7. What if something is damaged while it is being shipped?

Occassionaly minor damage occurs during shipping. There are several options for coverage plans that you can review with your representative so you can find one that best suits your needs. A valuation of $.60/lb per article is provided at no charge, but we recommend that a higher valuation be declared to adequately cover your belongings in the event of damage.
